When you register a domain name, you need to provide a genuine home address, email account and phone number as per the policies approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). This information, however, is not kept only by the domain name registrar, but is accessible to the general public on WHOIS check websites as well, so anyone can view your details and a lot of people may not be comfortable with this. As a result, lots of registrar companies have launched the so-called Whois Privacy Protection service, which conceals the domain registrant’s information and upon a WHOIS check, people will see the details of the domain registrar, not those of the domain owner. This service is also called Privacy Protection or Whois Privacy Protection, but all these expressions refer to the exact same service. Now, most of the Top-Level Domains around the world allow Whois Privacy Protection to be activated, but there are still country-code extensions that don’t support this option.

Whois Privacy Protection in Cloud Hosting

If you have ordered a cloud hosting plan from us and you have registered one or more domains under your account, you will be able to activate Whois Privacy Protection for any of them effortlessly and to keep your personal info secure. Of course, this will be possible only with the extensions that support such a service. In your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you’ll notice an “Whois Privacy Protection” icon next to each of your domains. Its colour will tell you if a domain is protected or not and in the second case, you can activate Whois Privacy Protection with only a few mouse clicks. Thus, you can shield your personal details even if you haven’t activated the service upon registration. You will be able to renew or to deactivate the Whois Privacy Protection service for any of your domains just as easily.

Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you choose to order a semi-dedicated server plan from us, you will be able to add Whois Privacy Protection to any of your domain names by following a couple of easy steps. In case you order a registration/transfer during the account order process, you can get the service along with the domain name. If you skip this step and you change your mind later, you can add the Whois Privacy Protection service from the Registered Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you can administer the whole semi-dedicated account. This is also the place where you can enable Whois Privacy Protection for all other domains that you register through us after the signup process. Renewing or removing the service is just as easy and will require no more than several mouse clicks.
